Tennis Ends Weekend on High Note Defeating Miami (OH)

Marshall beat Miami (OH) 6-1 on Sunday
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall women's tennis capped off the weekend with a 6-1 victory over Miami leaving them 2-0 on the weekend.

Marshall is now 9-4 on the season.

Marshall kicked it off with Madi Ballow and Madison Riley winning their doubles match. Miami (OH) answered back with a win, but Daniela Dankanych and Anna Smith sealed the deal giving Marshall the doubles point.

Dankanych gave the Herd its first singles win of the day, giving the Herd a 2-0 lead. The RedHawks' Makenzie Myers defeated Jutte Van Hansewyck giving Miami its only point of the day.

Smith, Ballow and Riley all beat their opponents in two sets. Liz Stefancic was also able to pull out a win.

Marshall women's tennis will face Akron and West Virginia State University on Saturday, March 7 in Huntington, West Virginia. The Akron match will be played at 1 p.m. and the WVSU match will be played at 6 p.m.
