HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall (9-4) women's tennis is set to face both Akron and West Virginia State University on Saturday. The Akron match is set for 1 p.m. and the WVSU match is set for 6 p.m. Both matches will be played at the Huntington Tennis Club.

HAVE YOU HERD?
Marshall defeated Winthrop, 4-3 and Miami 6-1 last weekend.

Against Winthrop, Liz Stefancic and Jutte Van Hansewyck along with Madi Ballow and Madison Riley collected doubles wins. Daniela Dankanych, Hansewyck and Stefancic each defeated their singles opponents.

Against Miami, Anna Smith and Dankanych beat their doubles match-up. Ballow and Riley collected doubles wins going undefeated together last weekend. Marshall dominated in the singles round only dropping one set.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT: Akron
Akron started the season 2-5 with only wins against Seton Hall and Cleveland State.

Akron dropped all three doubles sets but was able to bounce back winning four singles sets and taking the win.

SERIES HISTORY
Marshall leads the series against Akron 11-1.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT: WVSU
WVSU starts the season 1-2, with a win against Bluefield State but dropped matches to Wingate and Bellarmine.

SERIES HISTORY
The last time the Herd faced the Yellow Jackets, the Herd won 7-0. Marshall leads the series 4-0.

UP NEXT
Marshall women's tennis will take a couple weeks off before facing Virginia Tech at the Huntington Tennis Club on March 22, the match is set for 11 a.m.
