HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Four members of the Marshall women's golf team were honored Monday as Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars. Juniors Kerri Parks and Stormy Randazzo, sophomore Jackie Schmidt and freshman Peyton Schaffer were recognized for their work in the classroom as well as on the course.

The WGCA All-American Scholar Team consists of 1,401 women's collegiate golfers that all maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher.

Junior Kerri Parks was honored for the second consecutive year as she continues to add to her impressive list of academic awards that also includes multiple Conference USA Medals. This past season, Parks competed in six of the Herd's seven tournaments and led the team with a 74.50 stroke average. The Flushing, Mich., native had one top five finish and another in the top 20 during the shortened season. Parks was also the top finisher for the Herd in four of the six events that she played. She was tied for fourth at the Golfweek Program Challenge (Sept. 9-10).

Junior Stormy Randazzo was also honored as an All-American Scholar for the second-consecutive year. The Rowlett, Texas native was the only player for Marshall this season to compete in all seven events in the shortened season. She finished with a 75.90 stroke average, good for third on the team. Randazzo was the Herd's top finisher at the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational (Sept. 27-29). During the Mary Fossum Invitational, she moved up a total of 20 places on the leaderboard throughout the tournament as her score greatly improved.

Sophomore Jackie Schmidt makes it two WGCA All-American Scholar honors in-a-row as well. The Galt, Calif., native played in five of the Herd's seven tournaments in the shortened season. Schmidt scored a season-best 72 in the third round of the Golfweek Program Challenge (Sept. 9-10) to move up 10 places on the leaderboard.

Freshman Peyton Schaffer adds the WGCA honor to an academic career that already includes the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor and the Academic Medal. The Pittsburgh, Pa., native competed in six of the team's seven events in 2019-20. She made her collegiate debut in the season-opener at the Golfweek Porgram Challenge (Sept. 9-10). Schaffer had a season-low 75 in the second round of the Palmetto Intercollegiate (Oct. 13-15).
