Women’s Tennis Competes on Day Two of CofC Halloween Invitational

MU won five matches on the day
CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Marshall University women's tennis team won five matches on day two at the College of Charleston Halloween Invitational on Saturday.
The Thundering Herd took a pair of doubles matches over two pairings from Samford with Emma Vanderheyden/Liz Stefancic taking down Alexis Lopez/Rouxanne Janse Van Rensburg, 6-2, and Jutte Van Hansewyck/Gabrielle Clairotte defeating Samantha Nanere/Sofia Zaprianov, 6-3.
In singles, Marshall won three of its seven contests on the day. Emma Vanderheyden won in straight sets over Coastal Carolina's Mathilde Tranberg, 6-4, 6-3 and Liz Stefancic took a three-set battle over Coastal's Victoire De Samucewicz, 3-6, 6-1, 6-2. Gabrielle Clairotte closed things out for the Green and White with a triumph over Paola Landin Lopez of Coastal Carolina in straight sets, 6-4, 7-5.
