Men’s Soccer Lands Five on All-Region Teams

Dolabella, Dias and Dossantos named to first team
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall men's soccer team had five players honored on the United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region Teams, the organization announced this week.
The Thundering Herd landed three on the first team, a program record, with graduate student Pedro Dolabella, and seniors Vitor Dias and Nathan Dossantos. Redshirt junior Milo Yosef was named to the second team and senior Oliver Semmle earned third team honors. The five named All-Region ties the team record set in 2019 for the most selected in a single season.
Dolabella continues to add to his impressive haul of awards earning his first All-Region award. He has twice been named to the All-Region Scholar squads in 2019 and again in 2020. Dolabella led Marshall in scoring in his final season with 10 goals and 26 points, both career-highs. The Brasilia, Brazil native ranked in the top 10 in the NCAA in game-winning goals with five at the end of the regular season. "The Mayor" ended his career ranked in the top 10 all-time at Marshall in goals, assists and points.
Dias earned his second First Team All-Region honor, picking up his first in the spring. The Brasilia, Brazil native will be participating in the upcoming MLS College Showcase, along with Dolabella, Dec. 10-12 in Cary, N.C. Dias has put his spectacular skills on display for the nation over the past couple of seasons. He is ranked sixth all-time at Marshall with 15 assists, including three-straight to end the 2020 postseason resulting in the National Championship. "The Magician" tallied five goals and five assists for the Herd in 2021 and was named First Team All-C-USA for the second time.
Dossantos picked up his second All-Region team honor while helping to lead Marshall to have one of the stingiest defenses over the last two seasons. He took charge as a center back from the moment he transferred to Huntington after spending two years at Duquesne. In the spring of 2021, the Herd allowed only eight goals in 18 matches and Dossantos continued his incredible play in the fall. The Oakville, Ontario, Canada native led Marshall in minutes played with 1,692 and was named the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year.
Yosef earned his second All-Region selection with his first coming in 2019. He came through with some clutch passing in 2021. Yosef finished tied for the team lead in assists with senior Vinicius Fernandes with eight helpers. The Aachen, Germany native netted three goals and went on a four-match scoring streak in October. He tallied either a goal or an assist finishing with eight total points during the run and was named C-USA Offensive Player of the Week (Oct. 26) after an assist and scoring the golden goal at Charlotte in the 97th minute. Yosef was named First Team All-C-USA this fall.
Semmle earned his first All-Region recognition in 2021. He garnered a lot of attention after leading the Herd to the National Championship in the spring. The Au am Rhein, Germany native then helped lead Marshall through two more program records in the fall with seven-straight clean sheets and a duration of over 760 minutes without conceding a goal. In just two years, Semmle is second all-time in Herd history with 19 career clean sheets. He set a program record with 11 in the spring, which also led the nation, and then recorded eight more in the fall. Semmle was named Second Team All-Conference USA in 2021.
