Marshall Tennis Hosts First Home Match of 2020-21 Season Against Furman

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall women's tennis team (1-2) wraps up its weekend at home for the first time since March 27, 2020. Marshall faces Furman at the 7827 Tennis Center (formally Huntington Tennis Club) on Sunday, Feb. 14 at 11 a.m. in Huntington, W.Va.

HAVE YOU HERD?
Marshall defeated Middle Tennessee last week after duo's of Liz Stefancic/Jutte Van Hansewyck and Madi Ballow/Madison Riley secured the doubles point to kick off the match.

Anna Smith, Van Hansewyck and Riley all collected singles wins giving Marshall the win. Riley swept singles set winning 6-2, 7-6.

Marshall dropped its match to No. 14 ranked Virginia on Friday, Feb. 12.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT: FURMAN
Furman sits at 4-4 on the season with wins against No. #16 Wake Forest and #18 South Carolina, as well as VCU and Alabama. The team dropped a match 5-2, to #10 Duke.

Furman's #1 singles player, Katarina Kozarov is ranked 15th nationally and its #1 doubles team of Kozarov and Julia Adams is ranked 27th nationally.

Furman leads the series 7-1 over Marshall.

Due to current COVID-19 guidelines, Marshall's matches at the 7827 Tennis Center (formerly the Huntington Tennis Club) will be closed to the general public. Live stats will be available, however, and the access link will be included in each match preview.
