Marshall Tennis Heads to Murray State for Thursday Match

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall University women's tennis team (0-1) looks for redemption on Friday against Murray State. The Herd faces the Racers at 3:00 p.m. in Murray, KY.

Both Madison Riley and Madison Ballow collected wins against Kentucky last week.

Ballow secured the first singles point versus Kentucky after her three-set win over Lesedi Jacobs, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3.

Madison Riley collected the second and final point for the Herd in her two-set win over Salsa Aher, 7-5, 6-3.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT: Murray State
Murray State started the season 1-2, with its only win against North Alabama. The Racers swept the Lions 7-0 in their first match of the season.

After that win, Murray State dropped a doubleheader to Missouri. The Racers lost both matches 4-1.

Murray State returns three seniors and three sophomores. The team also welcomed two freshmen to their team.

SERIES HISTORY
This will be the first time the Herd faces the Racers.

The Herd continues their road stretch this weekend facing Middle Tennessee on Sunday, Feb. 7 at 11:00 a.m. in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
