PINEHURST, N.C. – The Marshall men's golf team is back on the course, March 12-14, at the Pinehurst Intercollegiate. The three-round event is set to be played on Pinehurst No. 8, at the Pinehurst Resort.
Competing for the Thundering Herd will be redshirt seniors Matt Hoffman and Will Straub, senior Brad Plaziak, junior Isaac Prine, and sophomores Tyler Jones and Christian Boyd. Marshall is coming off its first competition in almost a full calendar year at the Sea Palms Invitational, March 4-6. Jones was the top finisher for the Herd at 19th.
Pinehurst No. 8 is a par-71 with total yardage of 6,937.
The Herd will be one of 12 teams competing in the event. The other programs are Belmont, Abilene Christian, Longwood, Elon, Dayton, Wofford, Butler, DePaul, George Washington, Xavier and Old Dominion.
Marshall played at the Pinehurst Intercollegiate in 2020, and it was the last event of the year for the Herd as soon after everything was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Marshall has been playing at the Pinehurst Intercollegiate every season since 2007-08.
