At the time No. 11 Marshall came out victorious, 1-0, in overtime against the (RV) FIU Panthers on Saturday at Hoops Family Field. The Herd dominated the match, outshooting the Panthers 28-6 and 15-2 on goal. FIU's goalkeeper, Johan Penaranda had an outstanding match with 14 saves to help keep his team in the contest. Dossantos was honored as Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week as the center back led the way on the defensive effort, and scored the game-winning goal in the 92nd minute. The golden goal came off a corner kick from junior Jan-Erik Leinhos that caught a quick deflection from senior Pedro Dolabella, before Dossantos headed the ball in on the near side to beat the diving Penaranda. It was Dossantos' first goal of the season and his first with Marshall after spending his first two collegiate seasons at Duquesne.
