Hoffman Earns Conference USA Men’s Golfer of the Week

First weekly honor for redshirt senior
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall men's golf redshirt senior Matt Hoffman was named Conference USA Men's Golfer of the Week, the league office announced Thursday. It is the first weekly honor for Hoffman.
"I am so happy for Matt," Herd head coach Matt Grobe said. "He has had a wonderful career at Marshall and I am glad he was named Conference USA Golfer of the Week. It will be an honor he will always remember."
Hoffman led the Herd in the final regular season tournament of the season, finishing tied for 21st. After a bit of a rough start, Hoffman bounced back in the second round with a 2-over 73, that helped him jump up 24 places on the leaderboard. The Westerville, Ohio native had a solid third round despite very strong winds that kicked up as the day moved on. Hoffman totaled 10 birdies and shot par of better on 36 holes throughout the event.
Hoffman has been Marshall's representative to C-USA on the Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC). He has been a four-time member of the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll and is on target to make it 5-for-5.
