Tennis Concludes Action at LU Invite

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Marshall University women's tennis team concluded action on Sunday at the LU Invite on Sunday taking a doubles match and a pair of singles contests.
 
"It was a good way for us to start the season," Marshall tennis head coach John Mercer said at the conclusion of the event. "I thought everyone fought hard and now it's time to develop and get to work."
 
In doubles against ECU, Rieke Gillar and Kara Joseph picked a 6-4 win.
 
Marshall took a pair of singles contests over ECU seeing Emma Vanderheyden win in a three-set tiebreak (6-1, 2-6, 10-5) as well as Liz Stefancic take her match in a tiebreak after dropping the first set (1-6, 6-2, 10-2).
