JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – The 7th-ranked Marshall men's soccer team gets back out on the road for a midweek match with the East Tennessee Buccaneers. Kickoff from Summer-Taylor Stadium is set for Tuesday at 7 p.m.
 
The Thundering Herd enters the contest at 1-1-1 while the Bucs are 2-0-0.

The Herd is coming off a 3-3 draw against new Conference USA opponent (RV) Coastal Carolina on Saturday. Seniors Vinicius Fernandes and Noah Raphael along with freshman Paulo Lino scored for Marshall.
 
Senior Vitor Dias leads the team in scoring with nine points. Dias is tied with Fernandes for the team lead in goals with three. Fernandes has already tied his career-high for goals scored in a season. He netted three as a freshman and again in the spring. Dias is the leader in assists with three. Right behind him is Fernandes, graduate Pedro Dolabella and junior Alex Adjetey with two each.
 
Lino has already scored two goals in his first season of collegiate action. The freshman has been accurate with his chances as he has taken just four total shots with three on goal. Raphael and redshirt junior Milo Yosef, and redshirt sophomore Adam Lubell all have one goal each to begin the year.
 
Marshall has been outshot so far by just three, 38-35, but own the advantage in shots on goal by three, 23-20.
 
Senior Oliver Semmle has played all 290 minutes in the net for the Herd. He has allowed seven goals and has 13 saves.
 
Following Marshall's match at ETSU, the Herd will have one more road contest at Bowling Green on Saturday, Sept. 11 at 8 p.m. Marshall then returns to Hoops Family Field with four straight home matches against (RV) West Virginia (Sept. 17), No. 19 Akron (Sept. 21), No. 21 Kentucky (Sept. 25) and Butler (Sept. 29).
 
The Opponent
The ETSU Bucs opened the season with a 1-0 win on the road at Longwood and then took its home-opener, 4-2, over Radford on Saturday.
 
Tarik Pannholzer leads the team in goals with two and scoring with five points. Three players have scored one goal each. Seven different players have been credited with an assist, and no one has more than one.
 
The Bucs have been outshot 28-24, yet hold the advantage in shots on goal, 11-10. Pannholzer has been accurate as well scoring his two goals on four shots, all on goal.
 
Josh Perryman has played all 180 minutes in the net. He has allowed just two goals, sports a 1.00 goals against average, has five saves and a .714 save percentage. Perryman played against Marshall in the spring, allowing two goals and recording eight saves.
 
Head coach David Casper is in his fourth season leading the program. He has a record of 22-20-6 in his tenure with the Bucs.
 
ETSU has one more match at home against Lipscomb on Friday, Sept. 10, before heading out on the road for two contests.
