Marshall to face UVA and Longwood
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University tennis team kicks off its spring season in Charlottesville, Virginia, with duals against the Virginia Cavaliers and Longwood Lancers on Saturday.

Freshman Emma Vanderheyden was the singles champion at the tournament. She took all six of her matches and dropped just one set during the three-day event.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT: VIRGINIA
The Cavaliers finished the 2020-21 season with a 16-7 record. UVA reached the quarterfinals of the 2021 NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Tournament falling to the Georgia Bulldogs by a 4-1 decision.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT: LONGWOOD
The Lancers went 3-12 last season.

Alexandra Hincu reached the Round of 32 in singles at the ITA Regionals in October.
