Men’s Basketball Closes Road Trip at FAU, Contest at Southern Miss Rescheduled

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University men's basketball closes out its road swing in Boca Raton, Florida, on Saturday against the Florida Atlantic Owls.
SOUTHERN MISS CONTEST RESCHEDULED
The Herd's contest at Southern Miss, previously scheduled for Jan. 1, has been rescheduled for Feb. 21, as announced by the Conference USA league office on Friday. Game time is to be determined.

MU dropped its opening contest of the road trip, 70-66, at FIU on Thursday.
Junior Taevion Kinsey tallied a game-high 25 points on an 8-for-16 shooting night. The guard added six rebounds and three assists to his stat line.
Redshirt sophomore Andrew Taylor followed with 15 points as freshman Obinna Anochili-Killen scored 11 and freshman David Early added 10. Anochili-Killen also snagged six boards.
Kinsey reached his 52nd consecutive outing in double-figure scoring. The Columbus, Ohio native notched his 13th game of 20 points this season.
The Herd made a three in its 988th consecutive game, with the last contest without a triple occurring on Feb. 27, 1989, in a win over App State.
George played in his 129th career game, passing Ryan Taylor (2013-17) for fourth most games played in program history.
Anochili-Killen notched his 15th game of 10 or more points this season as Taylor recorded his 12th such game.
Early tallied 10 or more points for the third time during the 2021-22 campaign.
Kinsey has 1,717 points in his career. He is the 11th student-athlete in Herd men's basketball history to reach the 1,700-point plateau and passed Leo Byrd (1956-59) for 11th-most points in program history.
SCOUTING FAU
The Owls are on a two-game winning after taking down the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers 78-69 on Thursday night in Boca Raton.
FAU has three players averaging 10 or more points per game this season. Michael Forrest leads the way at 14.2. He is followed by Alijah Martin at 13.7 points per contest and Bryan Greenlee, who is at 10.1.
The Owls have made 155 three-point baskets (9.1 per game) which ranks fourth in C-USA. FAU ranks third in the conference as it has made 36.0 percent of its attempts from behind the arc.
