Sun Belt Awards: Morgan White Named to Sun Belt First-Team; Kat Gonzalez Named to Sun Belt Second-Team

Marshall women’s soccer opens tournament play Monday
NEW ORLEANS – The Sun Belt Conference announced the 2022 women's soccer awards Monday. Marshall senior forward Morgan White has been named to the Sun Belt Women's Soccer First Team All-Conference. Graduate senior midfielder Kat Gonzalez has been named the Sun Belt Women's Soccer Second Team All-Conference.
"So deserved by both Morgan and Kat," Marshall head women's soccer coach Michael Swan said. "They're both exceptional athletes with game-changing qualities. Both have had fantastic seasons and became Sun Belt All-Conference players, so deserved!"
Morgan White finished the regular season as the team's leading goal scorer with nine goals. The Cincinnati, Ohio native finished tied for second in the conference in goals and goals per game average (0.53).
Kat Gonzalez finished the regular season as the league's leading shot taker (60). Her shots per game average of 3.53 finished on top of the conference as well. Gonzalez finished with 13 points for Marshall this season, winning Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week for the week of October 24.
