PREGAME NOTES
Marshall had a memorable game in its last time out against Davis and Elkins.
-
The Herd hit 17 three pointers. The total was one shy of the program's all-time record in three point field goals made (18 at FIU 3/7/19). Marshall ranks first in the Sun Belt with 8.7 three point field goals per game (36th Nationally).Terah Harness led the team with 25 points, making six three pointers. That was the most since Taylor Pearson hit six triples for the Herd on February 6, 2020. Taylor Porter hit 10 in the same aforementioned game against FIU in 2019.
-
Junior guard Abby Beeman dished out 12 assists in the victory. The 12 assists were the most for the program since Norrisha Victrum had 11 against Morehead State on November 13, 2015. The last time a Herd player had more than 12 assists was Kim Lewis on February 16, 1987 (13). Nationally speaking, Beeman's 12 assists are tied for the eighth most by a player in a game this season. (Nika Muhl from UConn had 15 in a game this year)
-
Marshall's Scoring Defense ranks first in the league as well, allowing just 53.7 PPG to opponents (26th Nationally). Marshall held the Senators to 29 percent shooting in Sunday's win.
