Marshall took the doubles point
GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Marshall University tennis team (5-3) dropped its match to the Furman Paladins on Saturday, 6-1.
Â
"It was a good competitive match," Marshall tennis head coach John Mercer said after the loss. "Furman has a very good program. We did a nice job in doubles, but hopefully in the next match we can use that momentum to close out singles."
Â
The Thundering Herd dropped the first decision of doubles on court two. However, Madi Ballow and Jutte Van Hansewyck rallied on court three, 6-2, to defeat Julia Adams and Ellie Schoppe. Emma Vanderheyden and Liz Stefancic followed with a 6-3 triumph over Jess Dawson and Sara Snyder to take the doubles point.
