The Herd fell to the Charlotte 49ers, 99-84, on Saturday night in Huntington, West Virginia.
Redshirt sophomore Andrew Taylor finished with 21 points and six assists. The Corbin, Kentucky, native made nine of his 14 field-goal attempts, including 3-for-6 on three-point attempts.
Junior Taevion Kinsey followed with 19 points on an 8-for-15 night from the field.
Senior Mikel Beyers and freshman David Early each added 12 points. Early drained four of his five attempts from behind the arc.
Marshall shot over 50 percent from the field for the fifth time this season.
The Herd made a three in its 997th consecutive game, with the last contest without a triple occurring on Feb. 27, 1989, in a win over App State.
Kinsey has scored 10 or more points in 58 of his last 59 games. The Columbus, Ohio, native sits at 1,822 career points. He passed J.R. VanHoose's (1998-02) 1,803 and Russell Lee's (1969-72) 1,815 points to leap into sixth all-time in program history.
Taylor scored 20 or more points for the third time in his last five games.
SCOUTING SOUTHERN MISS
The Golden Eagles fell to UTEP, 84-70, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, on Saturday. They are on a nine-game losing streak heading into Monday's contest.
Tyler Stevenson is the team's leading scorer and rebounder at 14.4 points per game and 7.6 rebounds per game this season. His rebounding mark ranks fourth in Conference USA.
Stevenson also has eight double-doubles and is shooting 50 percent from the field, third best in the conference.
