Herd had two singles matches go to the third set
DENTON, Texas – The Marshall University tennis team (7-7) dropped its final match of the weekend to the FIU Panthers, 4-0, on Saturday in Denton, Texas.
"It was a very interesting match," Marshall tennis head coach John Mercer said. "I thought we raised our level as we went along which was good to see. We are looking forward to playing James Madison and Michigan State at home this weekend."
Emma Vanderheyden and Liz Stefancic fell 6-2 on court one. Madi Ballow and Jutte Van Hansewyck fell on court two, 6-1, as the Panthers took the doubles point.
In singles, Emma Vanderheyden fell in three sets on court one and Liz Stenfacic forced her match to three sets on court three as it went unfinished. Sophia Hurrion was leading on court five 4-1 and Aisling McGrane was leading 4-2 on court six as both matches went unfinished.
