Marshall takes its fourth-consecutive match
DAYTON, Ohio – The Marshall University tennis team (5-2) extended its winning streak to four matches as it defeated the Dayton Flyers, 6-1, on Saturday in Dayton.

"We played well as the matches went on," Marshall tennis head coach John Mercer said after the victory. "I want to thank Dayton for hosting us and giving us a good, hard-fought match.

Sophia Hurrion and Gabrielle Clairotte started doubles by cruising to a 6-0 win over Sarah DeMarco and Neena Kataauskas on court three. Emma Vanderheyden and Liz Stefnacic sealed the doubles point for the Herd on court one with a 6-3 victory over Erica Wojcikierwicz and Laura Greb.

In singles, Marshall took five of the six matchups, all in straight sets, as Vanderheyden, Madi Ballow, Hurrion, Clairotte and Jutte Van Hansewyck all emerged victorious. Stefancic battled back after dropping the first set in her match, but fell in a super-tiebreak in the three-set battle.
