The Herd fell on Wednesday night at home to WKU, 86-72
Junior Taevion Kinsey poured a team-high 24 points through the hoop to go with six rebounds and five assists.
Redshirt sophomore Andrew Taylor added 18 points and five assists on a 7-for-13 shooting night.
Freshman Obinna Anochili-Killen had 13 points and a team-high nine rebounds.
The Herd made a three in its 1000th consecutive game, with the last contest without a triple occurring on Feb. 27, 1989, in a win over App State.
Kinsey has scored 10 or more points in 61 of his last 62 games. The Columbus, Ohio, native has had 15 games of 20 or more points this season.
Taylor has tallied at least 10 points in his last 11 games.
MU had more points off turnovers, 19-15, and more second chance points, 13-11.
Anochili-Killen has reached double-figure scoring in 21 games this season.
84 of WKU's 86 points were scored by its starting lineup.
SCOUTING WESTERN KENTUCKY
The Hilltoppers and Herd are meeting for the second time this week.
Dayvion McKnight leads WKU with 16.1 points per game and 5.7 assists per contest.
Jamarion Sharp leads the conference in blocks with 135 while bringing down a team-high 7.3 rebounds per game.
