BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Marshall's track and field team took part in a limited Friday schedule on the first day of competition at the Hilltopper Relays in Bowling Green.

The event is being held at the Charles Ruter Track.

Rebecca Merritt (13.93 meters) and MaryAnn Adebayo (13.03) placed third and fourth, respectively, in the shot put. Merritt's mark is the fourth-best in Conference USA this season.

Brooke Burns recorded a fourth-place finish in the hammer throw with a heave of 54.46 meters, the seventh-longest toss in the league in 2022.

Cari Hively finished 12th in the 5000 meters with a time of 18:59.92.

Saturday's action gets underway at 1 p.m. ET/12 CT with the 4 x 100 meter relay.
