Stefancic took her singles match
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The 11th-seeded Marshall University tennis team (13-13) saw its season come to a close in a 4-1 loss to the third-seeded Charlotte 49ers (18-6) in the quarterfinals of the 2022 Conference USA Women's Tennis Tournament on Friday in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

"It was a good match," Marshall tennis head coach John Mercer said. "It was an awesome win for Liz. I'm proud of our seniors and the team, and how they competed. I have to give Charlotte credit and wish them the best. They have an excellent team."

No. 29 Margaux Maquet and Lucia Quiterui defeated the Herd's Emma Vanderheyden and Liz Stefancic, 6-2, on court one. Sophia Hurrion and Madi Ballow fell 6-4 on court two to Ruxi Schech and Kaavya Sawhney as Charlotte took the doubles points.

In singles, Stefancic took down Schech in straight sets 6-0, 6-3, on court two, but the 49ers took the match.
