HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The No. 14 Marshall University men's soccer team (1-0-0) faces its first road test of the 2022 season as it heads to Indianapolis, Indiana, to face the Butler Bulldogs (1-0-0) on Monday at 7 p.m.

The Herd began the season with a 5-0 shutout of the VCU Rams on Thursday night at Hoops Family Field.
Redshirt senior Milo Yosef recorded the first hat-trick of his career with goals in the third, 42nd and 65th minutes. The goals were assisted by graduate student Vinicius Fernandes, senior Joao Souza and graduate student Ibrahima Diop, respectively.
Yosef recorded the sixth multi-goal match of his career. With the three goals, he now has 22 in his career and sits in sole possession of seventh most in program history after coming into the contest tied with Jamil Roberts at 19.
The forward also has 58 career points, tied with Roberts for seventh most in program history. His eight total shots and five attempts on goal in the victory are both career highs.
Souza buried a penalty kick in the 57th minute and Fernandes assisted on a goal by freshman Matthew Bell in the 72nd minute.
Graduate student goalkeeper Oliver Semmle recorded the 20th shutout in his career. He is two away from surpassing Daniel Withrow's 21.5 for the most in program history.
The Herd outshot the Rams 34-2, including 13-0 in shots on goal. Both of the Rams attempts came in the first half.
Marshall is coming off its third-straight season playing in the NCAA Tournament and has been in the top 25 rankings every week since Oct. 15, 2019.
SCOUTING BUTLER
The Bulldogs are coming off a 2-0 win over Western Michigan. Its two goals were scored by Palmer Ault and Wilmer Cabrera, Jr.
Gabriel Gjergji made four saves in the match for a shutout.
Cabrera, Jr. was tabbed as the BIG EAST Preseason Offensive Player of the Year and was named to the 2022 MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List.
SERIES HISTORY
The all-time series is tied 2-2-0 between the two programs. Marshall has taken the last two meetings, including a 2-0 victory last season in Huntington.
