Women’s Golf’s Bull and McLatchey in Top 10 after Day One at Jennifer Duke Invitational

Herd sits in 5th
CINCINNATI, Ohio – After day one at the Jennifer Duke Invitational in Cincinnati, Ohio, the Marshall University women's golf team is in fifth place with freshman Abbey Bull and sophomore Emily McLatchey sitting in the top 10 on the individual leaderboard.
"It felt great to get the season started today," Herd women's golf head coach Brooke Burkhammer said after the opening day. "I was encouraged as we finished our first day of play for what this team can accomplish this year. We have so much talent and I'm ready to see some low scores tomorrow from the Herd."
Bull, who made her collegiate debut, made four birdies during her first 18 holes as she posted a 75 (four-over par), including a 36 (one-over par) on the front nine. The native of Sydney, Australia, followed with another 75 during her 18-hole second round to sit in a tie for sixth after the first two rounds.
McLatchey shot a 36 even-par on the back nine during her first round, making three birdies. The Winter Park, Florida, native finished the day in a tie for 10th shooting a 76 (five-over par) in the first round and a 75 (four-over par) in the second.
Freshman Olivia Kochan finished in a tie for 16th in her collegiate debut, making five birdies in her first 36 holes on the course.
