HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The No. 7 Marshall University men's soccer team (4-1-0) travels to Lexington, Kentucky, for its Sun Belt Conference opener on Friday night against the No. 6 Kentucky Wildcats. First kick is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

The Herd defeated Pacific 7-1 on Sunday at Hoops Family Field.
Freshman defender Ryan Holmes scored the first two goals of his career in the victory and was named Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday.
Freshman Matthew Bell tallied a pair of goals in the win and has six this season. Those six goals have the forward atop the conference and in a tie for first in NCAA Division I men's soccer. The native of Kingston, Jamaica, also leads the conference with 2.4 shots on goal per game, third best in the country.
Freshman Adam Aoumaich leads the Sun Belt with five assists, third in the nation, with three coming in the win over Pacific.
Marshall is coming off its third-straight season playing in the NCAA Tournament and has been in the top 25 rankings every week since Oct. 15, 2019.
SCOUTING NO. 6 KENTUCKY
The Wildcats are 4-0-1 this season, coming off a 1-1 draw at then-ranked No. 20 Tulsa.
Eythor Bjorgolfsson was named the SBC Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday. He has two goals and an assist this season after being named the conference's preseason offensive player of the year.
Kentucky has conceded just three goals this season with all coming in its last two contests.
Issac Walker has two clean sheets in goal this season for the Wildcats.

Kentucky leads the all-time series 19-21-4. Last season's meeting in Huntington was a 0-0 double-overtime draw.
