McLatchey finishes tied for fifth to lead the team
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Marshall University women's golf team finished sixth at the Grandover Fall Classic in Greensboro, North Carolina. Sophomore Emily McLatchey finished tied for fifth, shooting a two-over par (74) on Tuesday.
"Really proud of the girls!" Herd women's golf coach Brooke Burkhammer said. "We had a chance to win this week and fell a little short. I think we will learn from this and be better next time when we are in the hunt. I was really pleased that we had three players in the top 20 on a tough course. Time to shift our focus to Butler and prepare for a great week in Indiana."
Freshmen Abbey Bull and Olivia Kochan finished in the top 20 along with McLatchey as they placed tied for 12th and tied 18th respectively.
Junior Hanna Shrout tallied four birdies in her final 18 holes at the event.
