Herd Volleyball Drops Finale at Georgia Southern

Marshall returns home Thursday against App State

STATESBORO, Ga. – The Marshall University volleyball team (10-12, 2-6 Sun Belt) dropped it final match of the weekend at Georgia Southern (15-4, 5-3 Sun Belt) in three sets (25-22, 25-15, 25-20).
"It was a tough weekend for us," Herd volleyball head coach Ari Aganus said. "We battled but came up short to a very aggressive Georgia Southern team. At times different pieces clicked, just not all at the same time. Pieces we worked on all week showed up, now we just have to really focus on consistency. This team has so much fight and belief. We will get where we know we can be."
Brynn Brown recorded a team-high 17 assists as Peyton Neal had 16 digs and Kylee Stokes had nine kills.
The first featured three lead changes and the score tied nine times. The Herd battled, but the Eagles took the first set by the narrow margin of 25-22.
Georgia Southern took the second set 25-15, before taking the match from MU with another narrow margin in the third set, 25-20.
