STATESBORO, Ga. – The Marshall University volleyball team (10-11, 2-5 Sun Belt) fell Friday evening in three sets (25-17, 25-17, 25-16) on the road to Georgia Southern Eagles (14-4, 4-3 Sun Belt).

Brynn Brown finished with 19 assists as Peyton Neal closed out the contest tied for the match-high in digs at 13. Sarah Wadsworth led MU with seven kills.

The Eagles captured the first set 25-17 as The Herd couldn't get on top in the opening frame.

The second set featured four lead changes and the score tied five times with the third seeing the scored tied four times and lead changes. Marshall fell in the final two sets 25-17 and 25-16, respectively, as Georgia Southern took the match.

Marshall finishes its weekend in Statesboro, Georgia, with a second match against the Eagles Saturday at 1 p.m.
