HUNTINGTON, W.Va – On a chilly evening in Huntington, Georgia State (8-3-4) took a 4-1 match over Marshall (6-7-1).
Bailey Fisher scored her team-leading sixth goal of the season on a header in the 25th minute off a corner from Abi Hugh. It was Hugh's third assist, which is tied for the co-lead with Olivia Gandee.
Hugh, the senior leader, played in a defensive role for an injured Herd backline. The Huntington native is one of three players (Gandee and Cassidy Bell) to have surpassed 1,000 minutes of game action in 2023.
"I am so proud of that kid [Hugh], she gives everything," Head coach Michael Swan said. "She is the hardest worker in training. She is the hardest worker in games. Her hard work, her desire is there for everyone to see."
The header tied the match after an opening goal from the Panthers in the 6th minute. GSU would add in the 31st, 67th and 77th.
