Marshall Women’s Soccer Drops Contest at Georgia Southern

Herd returns home Sunday at 1 against Coastal

STATESBORO, Ga. – The Marshall women's soccer team (6-8-1) lost by a 4-1 scoreline against Georgia Southern (10-5-0) Thursday evening.
Senior transfer Hannah Telleysh scored her first career goal for the Herd in the 29th minute. Her goal came on a cross from Abi Hugh, who notched her team-leading fourth assist of the year.
Freshman Ashlyn Drayer made nine saves, including a sliding stop off the goalline in the first half. Southern scored all its goals in the first half, with the freshman from Chesterland, Ohio making five of her nine stops without allowing a second half score.
NEXT UP
Marshall will play its final regular season home game of the year on Sunday against Coastal Carolina. Kickoff is at 1 p.m. and will be the start of a doubleheader with the Herd men at Hoops Family Field.
