Marshall finishes final event of Fall 2023 tied for ninth in team standings
BROWNS SUMMIT, N.C. – Marshall Men's Golf ended its Fall 2023 season on Monday, finishing tied for ninth at the Bryan National Collegiate at Bryan Park Champions Course in Browns Summit, N.C.
Ryan Bilby finished in a tie for 15th place at 2-over for the tournament while Joseph Kalaskey was one shot back at 3-over, which placed him tied for 18th to give him a top-20 finish as well.
"Ryan Bilby had another good tournament and Joseph joined him in the top-20 with his solid play this week," Marshall Men's Golf coach Matt Grobe said. "We didn't have our best stuff this week, but we had a very solid fall overall and we are already looking forward to the spring."
Bilby moved into the top-20 after a final round 2-under 70 that led the Thundering Herd on the last day. His round included four birdies, including three in a four-hole stretch as he finished up that got him into the red.
Kalaskey finished with 14 birdies on the week to lead the Thundering Herd and led the Herd in the second round with an Even-par 72.
Cameron Jarvis, who finished tied for 38th, led the team in the first round, posting a 1-under 71 after Sunday's first round that featured five birdies and an eagle.
That was the final tournament of the Fall 2023 season for the Thundering Herd men's golf team. Their next action will take place in February in Georgia.
