Herd Women’s Golf Finishes Tied For 4th At FBCI Invitational

McLatchey finishes 11th, McIlvaine 12th in Herd’s final Fall 2023 event

ARDEN, N.C. – Marshall's Women's Golf team finished the FBCI Invitational in a tie for fourth place at The Cliffs at Walnut Cove.
Marshall's Emily McLatchey finished the tournament in 11th while teammate Kasey McIlvaine wrapped up the tourney in 12th place as the Herd capped its Fall 2023 season.
"We got a couple of solid rounds of golf today by Emily and Kasey," Marshall Women's Golf coach Brooke Burkhammer said. "The conditions were tough and so was the course, but it was great to see them post strong scores. We didn't have our best today as a team, but overall we had a good fall season and look forward to the spring."
McLatchey capped the tournament with a 4-over 75 that helped her lead the Herd on its final day of action. McIlvaine ended with a 5-over 76 that left her one stroke back of McLatchey at tournament's end.
Lipscomb and Abilene Christian tied for the team title at the FBCI Invitational. USC Upstate followed in third while Marshall tied with UNC Greensboro for fourth place.
The tournament brings the fall season to a close with the Herd earning a 2nd place finish at the Jennifer Duke Invitational, a 3rd place finish at the Butler Invitational and this week's T-4 finish at the FBCI Invitational.
