FRESHMAN SEASON (2023-24):
2024 SBC Championship All-Tournament Team
Kasey competed in all 10 events for the Thundering Herd in the 2023-24 season, leading the team with a stroke average of 73.5. For the year, Kasey had five top-6 finishes in events, including the 2024 SBC Championship where she finished T-5 after a 73-73-72 performance that earned her 2024 SBC All-Tournament Team honors. One of McIlvaine's best efforts came at The Atlantic Invitational when she finished T-4 after going 70-73-74. Her best performance to par came at the GCU Invitational when she had a career-best round of 3-under 69 in the opening round and followed it with a 1-under 71 in the final round to finish at 2-under for the tournament. At the River Landing Classic, her final round 71 tied for low round among 74 competitors as she finished T-6 in the event. In Fall 2023, Kasey made her impact on the Marshall Women's Golf team quickly, earning four Top-20 finishes out of the first five tournaments of her collegiate career. Kasey earned a 4th place finish in the Charlotte Invitational - a tournament in which she collected nine birdies and carded a 1-under 71 in the 2nd round. Also finished tied for 6th at the Butler Invitational, highlighted by an Even-par 70 in the 2nd round, to help Marshall to a 3rd place finish at the event.
HERD FILE: Kasey was a two-time NC Junior Girls All-State Team selection (2022 and 2023) and won the 2023 Cape Fear Girls Classic by six strokes after finishing 2-under for the tournament. She finished in the Top-15 in both the 2023 Carolinas Women's Amateur and the 2023 North & South Junior Championship. Kasey had 10 Top-10 finishes and 11 rounds at or under par in the 2022-23 season. Also had a runner-up finish at te 2022 Mimosa Hills Junior Invitational. Parents are Mike and Melanie McIlvaine. Chose Marshall because of the golf program's great support system and the welcoming environment. Expected major is Business-Finance.
