HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Marshall University women's basketball program (0-1) returns to the court Sunday on the road against Chattanooga (1-0). Tip from McKenzie Arena will be at 2 p.m.

COACH KIM CALDWELL
- On March 27, 2023, the Coach Kim Caldwell era began for the Marshall University women's basketball program. Caldwell became the eighth head coach in the history of the Herd.
- Caldwell - the Parkersburg, West Virginia native - joins Marshall from Division II Glenville State, where she turned the Pioneers into a powerhouse, going 191-24 in seven seasons, winning the 2022 NCAA Division II Women's Basketball National Championship.
PRE-GAME NOTES
- The Herd opened its 2023-24 season Thursday night at George Mason, in an 84-77 loss.
- The Herd erased a 23-point second half deficit to trim the Patriots' lead to four in the fourth quarter.
- Marshall's Breanna Campbell scored 17 points in her Marshall debut.
- Marshall and Chattanooga have a history dating back to 1981. However, last season was the first time the teams had met in 25 years, with the Herd winning 60-56 in Huntington.

ABOUT CHATTANOOGA
- The Chattanooga Mocs were picked to win the SoCon in the league's preseason media poll. Forward Raven Thompson and guard Jada Guinn were picked to the SoCon Preseason All-Conference Team.
- Chattanooga enters the weekend unbeaten, having defeated King to open the season, before facing Austin Peay Friday and Marshall Sunday.
- Head Coach Shawn Poppie enters his second season after winning the league and guiding the team to the NCAA Tournament in 2023.
