HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The No. 4 Marshall University men's soccer team (14-2) prepares for the first round of the 2023 Sun Belt Conference Men's Soccer Tournament on Sunday against the Old Dominion Monarchs (5-6-5).

PRE-MATCH NOTES

The Herd captured the 2023 Sun Belt Regular Season Championship after a 2-0 win over South Carolina on Tuesday.
It was a big awards week for Marshall. Alexander Stjernegaard took the final SBC Offensive Player of the Week award on Thursday for registering a goal and an assist against the Gamecocks.
Goalkeeper Gabriel Perrotta brought his shutout total to 8.5 in the victory over South Carolina with four saves earning SBC Defensive Player of the Week on Thursday. Perrotta was then named the SBC Goalkeeper of the Year and first-team all-conference on Friday.
Matthew Bell was named Sun Belt Offensive and Player of the Year along with first-team all-conference honors on Friday after registering 10 assists and eight goals this season for 26 points. His 26 points lead the conference with his 10 assists ranking third in the nation.
Morris Duggan earned the SBC Defensive Player of the Year award on Friday in addition to being named first-team all-conference with Taimu Okiyoshi being named second-team all-conference.

ABOUT THE MONARCHS

Old Dominion just matched up with Marshall on October 27 in Norfolk, Virginia, falling 2-0.
The Monarchs dropped their final contest of the regular season on Tuesday at No. 7 WVU, 2-1.
Michael Stratham ranks third in the conference with 59 saves this season.
