HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Following a perfect homestand, the Marshall women's basketball team heads back to the road, starting with a weekend trip at Jacksonville and Elon. Friday's game against the JU Dolphins will be at 6:30 p.m.

COACH KIM CALDWELL

  • On March 27, 2023, the Coach Kim Caldwell era began for the Marshall University women's basketball program. Caldwell became the eighth head coach in the history of the Herd. 
  • Caldwell - the Parkersburg, West Virginia native - joins Marshall from Division II Glenville State, where she turned the Pioneers into a powerhouse, going 191-24 in seven seasons, winning the 2022 NCAA Division II Women's Basketball National Championship. 

PRE-GAME NOTES

  • Senior guard Abby Beeman posted her fourth double-double of the season Monday in the team's 115-56 win over Salem.
  • Marshall''s Meredith Maier picked up her 100th rebound of her career in the win Monday. The sophomore from Fairmont is seven points away from hitting 100 for her Marshall career.
  • The Herd is 1-4 away from Huntington in 2023-24. The win came against Chattanooga, providing the Mocs only loss this season.

ABOUT JACKSONVILLE

  • Jacksonville enters Friday's contest with a 4-5 record overall, with all four wins coming at home and all five losses on the road.
  • Junior guard Edyn Battle is the catalyst offensively, leading the team with 19.6 PPG and 2.8 Assists Per Game.
  • The Dolphins have played one Sun Belt team this season, defeating Georgia Southern 61-59 on Nov. 16.

ABOUT ELON

  • Elon enters the weekend 2-7, with a Thursday contest at Furman prior to its game Sunday with the Herd.
  • The Phoenix have struggled offensively, partially skewed by a 60-29 loss at SBC opponent Old Dominion on Nov. 28.
  • Iycez Adams leads the team in points per game (9.3) and rebounds per game (6.3). Maraja Pass leads Elon with 3.2 assists per game.
