HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Winners of four straight, the Marshall women's basketball team (6-4) closes non-conference play with a road test at ACC opponent Wake Forest (3-8). Tip-time from LJVM Coliseum in Winston-Salem is at noon Thursday.

COACH KIM CALDWELL
- On March 27, 2023, the Coach Kim Caldwell era began for the Marshall University women's basketball program. Caldwell became the eighth head coach in the history of the Herd.
- Caldwell - the Parkersburg, West Virginia native - joins Marshall from Division II Glenville State, where she turned the Pioneers into a powerhouse, going 191-24 in seven seasons, winning the 2022 NCAA Division II Women's Basketball National Championship.
PRE-GAME NOTES
- Senior guard Abby Beeman scored a game-high 24 points in the team's fourth-straight win over Elon Sunday. Beeman is at 1,886 points for her career.
- Marshall leads the Sun Belt in steals per game (21.0). That number is fourth overall in the country.
- The Herd is 1-0 against Power-Five teams in 2023-24, after defeating Florida earlier this month, 91-88.
- Thursday is Marshall's final non-conference game before opening SBC play on Dec. 30 at Southern Miss.
- Marshall and Wake Forest have met on three occasions, with the Herd leading the all-time series 2-1. MU won the last meeting on Dec. 2, 2003 over Wake, 60-49.

ABOUT WAKE FOREST
- Wake Forest enters Thursday with a 3-8 record. The Demon Deacons too are playing their final non-conference play before starting ACC play on New Year's Eve.
- Graduate senior Kaia Harrison is the only player averaging double figures, with 10.3 PPG. Underclassmen guards Malaya Cowles and Elise Williams are following close behind however, with 9.6 PPG each.
- The Demon Deacons are led by Coach Megan Gebbia, who is in her second season in Winston-Salem. Gebbia had the winningest first-year in program history last season, with 17 victories.
