HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall women's basketball team ends its four-game homestand at 1 p.m. on Saturday when the Thundering Herd take on Texas State at Cam Henderson Center.

Marshall is in the middle of a six-game winning streak after defeating Coastal Carolina, 65-60, on Thursday morning. Selected to finish 10th at the beginning of the season, the Thundering Herd have surged into contention for a bye as the stretch run of the Sun Belt Conference season nears.

Head coach Tony Kemper said the streak is nice and his team is playing with confidence, but they are taking a one-game-at-a-time mentality.

"We've got a team in which I know and trust them in a lot of spots," Kemper said. "I like how we all stay together. Six in a row is good, but there's a really good team coming in Saturday, so it's a huge challenge to run it again."

Saturday's game is the annual "Play4Kay Game" which benefits the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. Marshall Athletics has set up a "Pledge for 3" campaign in which patrons can pledge a certain amount ($3, $5, or $10) for any made 3-pointer by the Thundering Herd.

Marshall Athletics will then match any donations made through this initiative and the total will be donated to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. You can make your pledge HERE!
