Marshall Women’s Golf Ready For SBC Championship

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall's women's golf team is set to take part in the Sun Belt Women's Golf Championship, starting Sunday at LPGA International's Hills Course in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Marshall's contingent of golfers includes Emily McLatchey, Olivia Kochan, Abbey Bull, Makena Rauch and Katie Potter. Kylie Bowes will serve as a substitute, as well.
"We're very excited to compete in the SBC Championship and take aim at The Hills Course at LPGA International," Marshall women's golf coach Brooke Burkhammer said. "Our conference is strong so it will be a great competition, and we look forward to seeing our team rise to the challenge this week."
All 13 Sun Belt teams will take part in the three-day event, which features 18 holes each day at the par-72, 6,200-yard course.
This marks the fourth consecutive year that the Sun Belt Women's Golf Championship will be contested at LPGA International. The 54-hole tournament features three rounds of stroke play on the par-72, 6,200-yard course. All rounds of competition will begin at 8 a.m. ET in a split-tee format with seven teams teeing off on No. 1 and six teams starting at No. 10.
All three rounds of the championship will be broadcast live on ESPN+ with live results on Golfstat.
Georgia Southern is the defending Sun Belt Women's Golf Championship, winning the first Sun Belt women's golf title in program history last season with a 31-over-par 895 at last year's event.
Five Sun Belt Conference teams are ranked among the top-100 teams in the nation according to this week's Golfstat National Team Rankings: No. 71 James Madison, No. 86 Old Dominion, No. 87 ULM, No. 88 Georgia Southern and No. 92 Texas State.
