Herd Men’s Golfers In Contention At 104th W.Va. Amateur

Bilby leads Marshall contingent in tie for 10th; Boyd, Thomas paired together Tuesday
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall men's golfer Ryan Bilby shot one of the lone rounds under par on Monday at Old White to move into a tie for 10th place at the 104th West Virginia Amateur, hosted by The Greenbrier Resort and the West Virginia Golf Association.
Bilby finished 3-under on his final nine, including consecutive birdies on Nos. 16 and 17, to surge into the top-10 with the 1-under 69 while all four Marshall golfers competing survived the cut after a tough opening two days. Bilby is just four shots off the lead at 5-over for the tournament.
Christian Boyd and Clayton Thomas are also in the top-20, sitting in a tie for 16th at 7-over, which is six shots off the lead. Joseph Kalaskey is 10 shots off the lead at 11-over.
Tuesday's action shifts back to the Meadows course at The Greenbrier, which was also the site for Round 1 action.
Kalaskey, currently tied for 37th, will be the first Marshall player off the tee on Tuesday at 8:45 a.m.
Thomas, who shot an Even-par 70 at Meadows in the first round to sit in the top-5 after day one, will join Boyd in the 9:57 a.m. group.
Bilby will start his round at 10:15 a.m. as he joins Thomas, Boyd and Kalaskey as players looking to make a push on 'Moving Day' at the 104th West Virginia Amateur.
Following Tuesday's third round, golfers making the final day cut will return to Old White for Wednesday's final round where a champion will be crowned.
