Herd Women's Golf Earns WGCA All-Scholar Team GPA Award

Marshall leads all divisions for 2022-23 year with a collective 3.95 GPA
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall's Women's Golf program scored a major victory off the course this week.
Marshall was named as the recipient of the 2022-23 Women's Golf Coaches Association All-Scholar Team GPA Award. The award recognizes the women's collegiate golf program with the highest collective average Team GPA and includes all members of the team.
Marshall earned the award by posting a Team GPA of 3.95 for the entire 2022-23 school year.
"This is such an amazing accomplishment for our team," Marshall women's golf coach Brooke Burkhammer said. "This team works incredibly hard in the classroom, on the golf course and in the community. It is awesome to see them reap the rewards of their hard work. I'm very proud of our team!"
In addition to winning the award for Division I, Marshall had the overall top GPA among all divisions of the WGCA, which includes Division I, Division II, Division III and NAIA.
There were only four schools total among all divisions who registered a 3.9 Team GPA or higher.
Marshall's seven team members for 2022-23 included senior Makena Rauch, junior Hanna Shrout, sophomores Emily McLatchey and Katie Potter and freshmen Kylie Bowes, Abbey Bull and Olivia Kochan.

The Women's Golf Coaches Association, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women's collegiate golf coaches.
