Herd Tennis Begins 2023-24 at Thunder in the Mountains

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University tennis team gets its 2023-24 season started with the Thunder in the Mountains in Charleston, West Virginia. The event is set for Friday through Sunday at the Kanawha City Community Center featuring the Herd, Cleveland State, Radford and West Virginia.

Friday, September 22
10 a.m. – Doubles – WVU vs. Marshall; Cleveland State vs. Radford
10:45 a.m. – Doubles – Marshall vs. Cleveland State; WVU vs. Radford
11:30 a.m. – Singles – WVU vs. Cleveland State
1:30 p.m. – Singles – Marshall vs. WVU

Saturday, September 23
Noon – Singles – Marshall vs. WVU
2 p.m. – Doubles – Marshall vs. Radford; WVU vs. Cleveland State
2:45 p.m. – Singles – Cleveland State vs. Radford

Sunday, September 24
10 a.m. – Marshall vs. Cleveland State
Noon – WVU vs. Radford

Pregame Notes
The 2023-24 Marshall returns its entire 11-player roster from 2022-23, including Johanna Strom, who first-team all-SBC in singles and doubles with partner Emma Vanderheyden and second-team all-conference doubles pairing Aisling McGrane and Sophia Hurrion.

MU welcomes one newcomer in Emily Schut.
