HUNTINGTON, W.Va – The Marshall women's soccer team dropped its Sunday afternoon contest against South Alabama, 2-0. The loss drops the Herd to 5-4-1, while the Jaguars remain unbeaten at 9-0-2.
"We are showing the courage to go out and play with what we have right now," Coach Michael Swan said. "Today they absolutely stuck to the task against a program that has been at the top of the Sun Belt for over 10 years."
"We talked at the start of the year about where we felt this program was and it is a growing program. Our character has been challenged these last couple of weeks. We will turn these results around because I have belief and faith in what we are doing."

The Herd held USA quiet through a half hour but the Jags' Irene Campo scored on a cross in the 35th minute. A 58th minute goal from the 2021 SBC Player of the Year, Gracie Wilson put the visitors in front by the 2-0 scoreline.
