Box Score
ATLANTA, Ga. – The Marshall women's basketball team has shown it cannot be held down for long.
After being held without a field goal for the first five minutes of the game, the Herd (10-5, 4-0 SBC) outscored the Georgia State Panthers (8-6, 2-2 SBC) by 14 over the final three quarters en route to a 90-78 victory.
Coach Kim Caldwell's team has now won four in a row in conference play, and nine of its last 10 overall. The last time Marshall was 4-0 in league play was the 2005-06 season when the team started 5-0.
"Good road win with a tough environment on kids' day," Coach Caldwell said. "I didn't think we played all four quarters great, but I think that we're getting a little more balanced and we're starting to figure some things out."

After falling into an early 17-5 hole with 2:18 remaining in the opening quarter, the Herd closed the gap with a 13-3 run. Hayes knocked down two of her game-high three triples in that span to close the deficit to just two after the first.
