Herd Tennis Opens Spring in Virginia on Saturday

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall University tennis team begins its spring season on Saturday with duels in Charlottesville, Virginia, against No. 12 Virginia and Longwood.

PREMATCH NOTES

Entering the spring, Emma Vanderheyden went 7-3 in singles matches and 5-2 in doubles during the fall.
Johanna Strom also put together a strong singles showing in the fall going 6-2.
This marks the first action since Liberty Hidden Dual #2 from November 3 through November 4.

SCOUTING VIRGINIA

The Cavaliers are 2-0 this spring after defeating Richmond, 4-0, and James Madison, 7-0, on Thursday.
Anabelle went 2-0 at number one singles with Hibah Shaikh winning both of her contests at number two.

SCOUTING LONGWOOD

The Lancers begin their spring on Friday in a match at Elon.
Last season, Longwood went 7-15 during the spring.
