HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Sun Belt Conference-leading Marshall women's basketball team (14-5, 8-0 SBC) travels to face the top offensive rebounding team in the nation, Georgia Southern (13-7, 3-5 SBC).

PRE-GAME NOTES

Marshall's win over JMU Wednesday night tied a program-record for best start to league play in team history. The Herd's 8-0 start matches Coach Judy Southard's team opening to the 1988-89 Southern Conference season.
Entering play Saturday, Marshall holds a one-game lead over Troy atop the SBC standings. The Herd and Trojans do not meet in the 2023-24 regular season.
Marshall is seeking its first win in Statesboro since Feb. 10, 1997.

ABOUT GEORGIA SOUTHERN

Georgia Southern features Preseason All-Sun Belt First Team member Terren Ward. The senior is averaging nearly a double-double per game this season with 21.8 PPG and 9.7 rebounds per game.
The Eagles lead the country with 18.7 offensive rebounds per game. The team is second overall behind only South Carolina with 48.25 total rebounds per contest.
Georgia Southern is 13-7 overall with a 3-5 league record. Coach Anita Howard's team is 8-3 this season in Statesboro.
