Olivia Kochan Finishes T-4 At Butler Fall Invitational

Junior’s consistent week lands a top-5 result, leads Herd to 4th-place finish as team
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Marshall junior Olivia Kochan turned in a 1-over 71 in Tuesday's final round to finish at 4-over for the tournament, which was good for a fourth-place finish at the Butler Fall Invitational at Highland Country Club.
For Kochan, it was her second straight round of 71 in the tournament as she continued her consistent golf throughout the week.
The T-4 result was Kochan's second consecutive top-10 finish for the Herd.
Kochan led the field with 17 pars on the day – the lone blemish being a bogey on No. 14. It was an impressive feat in a tournament in which no player finished at par or better for the 54-hole tournament.
In addition to Kochan, Marshall freshman Savannah Hawkins put together one of the day's best rounds, ascending 18 spots up the leaderboard on the final day with an Even-par 70 that moved her into the top-20 with a T-17 finish.
Hawkins finished with three birdies on the day, giving her nine birdies for the tournament.
Emily McLatchey also finished with a final-day 73 while Madison Borders added her third-straight 75 of the tournament as action wrapped up.
Marshall Women's Golf will return to action on Oct. 21 at the UNCG Fall Invitational.
