McGrane finishes 1-1 in qualifying singles

CINCINNATI, Ohio – Aisling McGrane went 1-1 in qualifying singles on day one of the ITA Atlantic Regional on Thursday in Charlottesville, Virginia.
"Saw some good set work today. It was good to see Ash getting back into form," Herd Tennis Head Coach John Mercer said.
McGrane was looking to qualify for the Main Draw on Thursday. The senior began the day against George Mason's Maya Bayet. McGrane opened the contest with a 6-3 win in set one before falling 6-2 in the second as Bayet forced a third set. McGrane dug deep finished a win in her first match taking the third 6-3.
In the second round, McGrane was matched up against Georgetown's Natasha Kavarana. McGrane fell in straight sets in the contest as both sets went down to the wire in tiebreaks seeing her singles end.
