Herd Women’s Soccer Battles In 3-2 Defeat to JMU

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Twice Marshall led, but twice the visiting Sun Belt Conference Champions responded Sunday afternoon at Hoops Family Field.
The Herd women's soccer team (3-7-5, 1-4-4 SBC) lost by a 3-2 scoreline to JMU (10-3-3, 8-0-1 SBC) after the Dukes' scored its winner in the 51st minute.
Scoring the goals for Marshall were Elodie Metho and Katie Porter, the first of the season for each.

MU led for less than six minutes on each occasion. Metho's 5th minute goal was responded with an 11th minute equalizer. Porter's 34th minute strike was responded to less than 90 seconds later.
Marshall ends its regular season on Thursday, Oct. 31 at 7 p.m. against Louisiana from Hoops Family Field.
